Getting started

Do I need to install anything?

No. JoinedInbox runs in your web browser - any computer, tablet or phone. On a phone, add it to your home screen and it works like an app.

How long does setup take?

About 10 minutes for most people. You type each email address and its password, we do the rest. If you'd rather not, we'll set it up for you - just ask.

Does it work with my email provider?

Yes - Gmail, Outlook and Hotmail addresses, Yahoo, and any address that came with your website hosting (Hostinger, GoDaddy, IONOS, one.com and the rest).

Gmail asks me for an "app password" - what's that?

Google's way of letting other services collect your Gmail safely. It takes two minutes to get one, and we show you exactly where to click, with pictures, during setup.

How many email addresses can I connect?

Each plan includes a number of addresses - from 3 on the smallest plan to 20 on the biggest. It's shown on every plan card on the pricing page.

Your address and your mail

Will my email address change?

No. You keep every address you have now. Customers keep writing to the same address, and your replies come from it as always.

Is JoinedInbox a new email address?

No. It's one inbox for the addresses you already have. You don't get, and don't need, a new address.

Will my mail be deleted from my old mailbox?

Only if you switch that on. Some people enable it to stop a small hosting mailbox filling up - your full history stays safe with us either way. It's off unless you choose it, and we ask you to confirm before it ever runs.

My provider files some mail into folders - do you collect those?

We collect your inbox. Mail that rules at your provider move into other folders stays in those folders there. Tip: do your organising with labels inside JoinedInbox instead - they work across all your addresses.

I leave mail on my server - won't my provider mailbox still fill up?

Eventually, yes - "leave mail on server" means a copy stays at your provider. When it gets tight, either tidy up at your provider or switch that address to "delete after collecting" - your full history stays safe with us either way.

What happens to mail from years ago?

When you connect an address, we can collect your older mail too, so your history is searchable in one place. You choose how far back to go.

Is my email safe with you?

Your mail is stored on servers in Europe, your email passwords are kept encrypted, and your mail is backed up every night to a separate location.

Working as a team

How does my team get access?

On a Teams plan, you add each person from the Team page. Everyone gets their own login, and you choose which mailboxes each person can see and reply from.

Can each person see everything?

Only what you allow. Each member sees just the mailboxes you've given them - and you, as the owner, always see everything.

Can I give an email to a teammate to handle?

Yes. Assign any email to a member as a task - with a due date and an urgent flag if you like. They see it under "Assigned to me", and you see when it's done.

What happens when someone leaves the business?

Remove or disable them from the Team page - one click, and they're signed out everywhere instantly. Their work stays; only their access goes.

Won't we reply to the same customer twice?

That's exactly what we prevent. When someone opens a message or starts replying, everyone else sees it - "Emma is replying" - so nobody doubles up.

Who can add labels or change settings?

The owner manages the structure - labels, connected addresses, team, billing. Members do the mail work: read, reply, label, assign and complete tasks on their mailboxes.

Is this a ticket system?

No. Customers get a normal email from your normal address - no ticket numbers, nothing impersonal.

Billing

Is the price per person?

No. One flat price covers the plan's whole allowance - a Teams plan includes you plus up to 10, 20 or 30 members, for one price.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes. Monthly costs one tenth of the yearly price - so paying yearly gives you two months free.

Is there a free trial?

No trial - but full money back within 14 days of your first payment, no questions asked.

Do you take discount codes?

Yes - enter your promotion code at checkout and the discount shows before you pay.

Will I be surprised by a renewal charge?

Not on yearly plans - we email you 30 days and again 7 days before renewal. Monthly plans renew each month like any subscription.

Can I change plans?

Yes. Moving up is instant - you pay only the difference. Moving down applies at your next renewal, as long as your usage fits the smaller plan's storage, address and member allowances - we'll show you exact numbers if it doesn't.

Leaving

Can I take my email with me?

Yes. Download everything - all messages and attachments - in a standard format other email programs can open.

What happens if I stop paying?

Your service runs to the end of the paid period. After that you get plenty of time and email reminders to download your mail before anything is removed.

How do I cancel?

From your account page, in a couple of clicks. No phone calls, no retention scripts.
